GMA Update

Sunday

Through the chill, wind and all the rain, GMA got off to a spectacular start as all the attendees registered
and let’s say…”let the schmoozing begin.”
Wow…thanks to Curb records, I experienced a triple decker vanilla, chocolate and mint sundae topped off with
many of the delicious toppings they had available all set in the 50’s themed atmosphere. Met a few people, saw a few
people I recognized…all enjoying the “I scream, you scream, we all screamed for that yummy ice cream!” It was
really a good time fellowship with some folks prior to heading over to the Ryman Auditorium for the Worship
Service.
The Worship service at the Ryman…how does one describe God’s glory? Can I say wow?? It was an unbelievable
time. Michael W. Smith lead the 85 membered Artist choir and began the evening not only in prayer and dedication
to God, but to also honor Him as He continues to bless us as America. We sang the Star Spangled Banner in the
traditional, patriotic way as well as the not so familiar way..Are you aware that there is more than one verse to that
song? I never knew it. However, Michael knew it and we sang it too…very powerful and it is so true to what we as
Americans are facing with our troops overseas at war. Michael then invited a very special guest to take the stage to
talk to us…former pilot, Mr. Scott O’ Grady whose plane was shot down over Bosnia eight years ago, and was
taken prisoner. Through that fatal experience, God used Mr. O’Grady and allowed him to survive and recover
and tell of His awesome power and glory in giving this testimony all over the world.
The Worship began and what an experience. The evening was packed with the power of God as we sang songs
such as “Let The Wall Fall Down”, “Awesome God”, “Agus Dei” and “Open The Eyes of My Heart” just to name
a few. After Michael stepped up to the mic to introduce the last song, he said a prayer…and the Holy Spirit
flowed. Michael ended his prayer and then various people throughout the audience began to pray for Michael
and all the artist’s on stage to bless them and strengthen them to keep on keepin on for God in their lives to
continue to keep doing what they do. Then others prayed for our president and the troops overseas and soon
after, the whole place was covered in prayer. Michael then went back to the piano and lead us in “There is
None Like You” and then got up and ended the evening with “Prince of Peace”
Monday…

Busy day as the seminars started and everyone was going everyone to their various places and amidst the
crowd I spotted Mark Stuart of Audio Adrenaline, Ronnie Freeman, Ginny Owens, Shaun Groves and Chris
Rice. I spent some time chatting with Chris and Ginny and those interviews will be forthcoming at a later time.
Monday night I traveled over to the Rocketown Teen Night Club to watch the “Late Night” from ForeFront
records. Wow! Talk about some JAM. “Fore ON The Floor Jam”. The night featured Stacie Orrico,Lil iROCC,
Rebecca St. James and Toby Mac. It was a very highly energetic night. I’m exhausted just from watching, so I
better go now and relax.
More to come … stayed tuned…
