Tuesday has been a plethora of CCM experiences with more to come, from interviewing fab-four girl band RiZen, to seeing old friends like Charles Dorris, Jim Veldhuis, Greg Seneff and Chris Houser, to learning more about a new evangelism ticket company, to taking more time to tour the exhibit tables. I will fill in the all details later but thought I would outline my day’s adventures so far!
RiZen – what a delightful group of gals! I had the opportunity to meet, interview them and have my photo taken with the girls who talked about their mothers, Christmas, and, of course, RiZen!
At a press conference for a new ticket service called Evangelism Tickets, the panel was composed of several top CCM movers and shakers including founder Justin Smith, Joe Battaglia, Holly Benyousky, and Charles Dorris. Charles has been a dear friend for more than 20 years and is responsible for encouraging me to launch Christian Activities Magazine.
The venerable foursome discussed Smith’s concept of an organization that would encourage Christians to reach out to the unchurched by purchasing tickets to Christian events for others.
Also at the Evangelism Tickets press conference was another old pal, entertainment attorney Greg Seneff. After the press conference, I had the chance to see the rough masters of his in depth new tape/CD series on the legal side of CCM.
The exhibit area was jammin’ as many people took advantage of all the tables to learn more about the businesses behind the industry. From tape duplicating, to printing, to ticketing, to packaging, it was all there. Some rooms and special areas were set aside for instrument demos and bands were invited to come down and jam on the equipment.
