GMA Interview: Lincoln Brewster

I recently sat down with Vertical Music artist,
Lincoln Brewster. He has released his second album,
Live to Worship. Lincoln has been a guitarist for
other artists for several years. In the 90’s he
toured with Steve Perry from Journey as well as
Michael W. Smith on the ‘Live the Life’ tour.
He recently moved back to Modesto,California, after
living in Nashville and attending The Oasis Church.
Lincoln has discovered his passion for Worship. This
is at the root of the music that he creates.
“After
doing some of the mainstream stuff, (w/Steve Perry)I
would see people come in hurting. I felt like we were
just putting a band-aid on issues that people had” I
really had a desire to do something more than that. I
moved back to Modesto (California).”
In Modesto,
Lincoln found a Church where he would become a worship
leader. “They ended up asking me to play in the
worship band and they offered me a job…They wanted
me to take over the youth praise and worship.”
After taking on this role, Lincoln was able to write
passionate songs for God. He has blended a rock ‘n
roll sound with contemporary worship styles.
Lincoln shared about getting feedback on his music, “I
find that people that I would never suspect would be
blessed by the music. It’s very encouraging. People
come up and go, ‘I know you probably hear this all the
time, but I love your music.’ Each day it means
something to hear that you’re making a difference.
It’s easy to go,’Oh, I’m not a world shaker, but I
guess that depends on whose world you end up shakin’.”
