In its latest effort to create new law, the Obama administration is issuing a decree telling all public school districts to allow students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity, even if that is opposite of their biological gender.
“Today the Departments of Education and Justice issued an ominous warning to U.S. schools that receive federal funding via a ‘dear colleague’ letter: open up your restrooms, locker rooms and showers to students who believe they are the opposite sex – or lose your federal funding,” said President of Focus on the Family Jim Daly. “This is no minor threat. Federal funding of education amounts to billions of dollars and impacts about 16,500 school districts and 7,000 colleges, universities and trade schools. It also applies to charter schools, for-profit schools, libraries and museums that receive federal aid.”
“We are witnessing American society’s descent into moral darkness. With each passing day we fall farther and faster into an abyss where truth and fixed ethical guideposts do not exist. It is the moral equivalent for the nation of the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s for an individual, when the victim forgets his own identity,” says E.W Jackson, a Marine Corps Veteran, retired attorney, National President of STAND Foundation, Inc., Bishop of THE CALLED Church and former Republican Nominee for Lt. Governor of Virginia.
“The Administration is equating gender identity with biological gender,” said Karen England, spokesperson for Privacy For All. “There is no basis in law or logic for doing this. The Department of Justice is not condemning sex separate facilities,” states England. “In fact sex separate bathrooms, showers and locker rooms are permitted. According to the federal bathroom bullies, what is not permitted is labeling somebody as a boy or a girl.”
“Focus on the Family represents millions of parents around the country who are alarmed by this order and concerned for the privacy and safety of their children,” added Daly.“Case in point: On the very same day news of this letter was released, we learned that an 8-year-old girl in Chicago was brutally attacked inside a woman’s restroom by a man. The youngster was choked and dragged unconscious into a stall before her mother, responding to the sound of screams, raced inside to investigate. This horrific story highlights my concern that violent predators will exploit such bathroom accommodations, thus endangering the most vulnerable among us, especially our young daughters and sons.”
“When an educated and articulate United States Attorney General stands before the public and says that the long held expectation that males and females use specifically designated restrooms is a mere “pretext” for discrimination, we have fallen through the rabbit hole,” Jackson notes. “When the President dictates bathroom policy for the entire public school system, we are witnessing official delusion at the highest level.”
The latest Obama Administration debacle over public school bathrooms comes hot on the heels of another extremely controversial mandate — ObamaCare — being dealt a stunning defeat in court. Federal judge Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled on Thursday in favor of House Republicans in their lawsuit against the Obama administration. This latest arbitrary ruling from the Obama Administration is certain to incite more lawsuits and legal action.
“Only the first black President could conflate being black with gender identity, and dispatch the Attorney General to enforce the new gender justice rules,” states Jackson. “Most black Americans are insulted by the comparison.”
Privacy For All opposes any effort that would result in unwanted exposure to or from a physically opposite person in public bathrooms, showers or locker rooms. According to England, “PFA asks two questions: Is it ever appropriate for a biological male to be exposed to a female against her will? Is it ever appropriate for a female to be forced to expose herself to a biological male against her will? If you answer no to either or both of those questions, you cannot support this federal decree.”
PFA also takes exception with these new laws being introduced in schools. “There is enough discomfort for young boys and girls in public school locker rooms already. Forcing them to share these facilities with physically opposite individuals is cruel. And it is doubly cruel when we know that the President and other government officials have private bathrooms.”
“Any sane person who steps back from the hysteria will recognize that the principles of fairness and equality do not apply to allowing people to use restroom facilities based on psychology rather than biology, Jackson points out. “The Supreme Court has already redefined the six thousand year old institution of marriage. Must biological reality be redefined as well? Apparently, the answer is yes.”
