Gaylord Receives Multibple Dove Honors

Gaylord/Word Music Publishing scored high honors at this
year’s 32nd annual Dove Awards with seven 2001 Dove Awards to their credit.
The seven awards included Song of the Year, “Redeemer” written by Nicole C.
Mullen, Songwriter of the Year, Nicole C. Mullen (the first female songwriter
in over a decade to win this award), Hard Music Recorded Song, “Point #1”
written by Chevelle, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song, “Redeemer” written by
Nicole C. Mullen, Inspirational Recorded Song, “Blessed” written by Cindy
Morgan and Ginny Owens, Inspirational Album, Home recorded by Fernando Ortega
and Instrumental Album, Lights of Madrid recorded by Phil Keaggy.
In addition to recent achievements, Gaylord/Word writers have earned Dove
Awards for Song of the Year for four consecutive years in a row. In 1998 they
received honors for “On My Knees” written by Nicole C. Mullen, David C.
Mullen and Michael Ochs, in 1999 for “My Deliverer” written by Rich Mullins
and Mitch McVicker, in 2000 for “This Is Your Time” written by Michael W.
Smith and Wes King and in 2001 with Nicole C. Mullen’s “Redeemer.” In the
32nd year history of the Dove Awards, Gaylord/Word Music Publishing currently
owns eight of the song of the year copyrights, which is more than any other
Christian music publisher to date.
The 32nd Annual Dove Awards also featured a plethora of Gaylord/Word Music
Publishing performances. Gaylord/Word copyrights opened the show with “Begin
With Me” performed by Point Of Grace and written by Steve Siler and David
Tyson and ended the show with a finale of “Redeemer,” performed and written
by Nicole C. Mullen. As well as the opener and closer, Word Publishing had
“Blessed” co written by Cindy Morgan and Ginny Owens and “Adore” co written
by Brent Bourgeois and Chris Eaton performed as well.
