Freddie Colloca to Release Unconditional

Multiple Dove Award-nominated One Voice Records Latin pop recording artist Freddie Colloca is gearing up for the April 16 release of his sophomore English-language project, entitled Unconditional.
Unconditional will hit the streets with an impact that could only be marshaled by production masters Hal Batt (Julio Iglesias, Chayanne) and Miami native Don Koch (multi-million-selling producer of CCM pop icons 4Him and NewSong, among others) and the sales savvy of Provident Music Distribution.
The first single, “Savior, My Savior,” goes for adds at Christian AC and CHR radio on March 1, followed in short order by the powerhouse ballad “Instead of Me,” which is slated to hit Inspirational radio March 15th.
With a voice that has been called “muscular, joyful, poignant and playful,” Colloca approaches every song he sings with the passion innate to his Latin heritage. The album includes the songwriting expertise of such talents as Batt, Koch, Regie Hamm, Joel Lindsey, Brian White, Robert Ellis Orrall, and Colloca himself.
After capturing the industry’s attention at last year’s Dove Awards ceremony, where he performed the title song from his debut English-language project Dance El Ritmo, Colloca set off on a whirlwind year. His activities have included taping three seasons as the new host of CBN’s One Cubed video show, which reaches more than 25 million viewers weekly, and wowing the crowd at Estes Park’s Seminar in the Rockies. In December, he debuted new music from Unconditional to an enthusiastic audience at the Provident Music Distribution Winter Sales Conference Showcase, where he shared the stage with Jars of Clay.
Recently, Colloca was honored with two 2002 Dove Award nominations in the Rap/Hip-Hop/ Dance Recorded Song of the Year category, as writer and performer of “Dance El Ritmo.” He is currently touring with CCM greats NewSong and Newsboys on the popular Winter Jam Tour.
The Argentina-born, Miami-raised, twenty-something Colloca, who has been called the Christian alternative to such internationally known stars as Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Antony and Luis Miguel, simply says, “I want to bring audiences to their feet in celebration, and to their knees in worship. I’m flattered by comparisons to so many great artists, but truthfully I’d hope one day I could be compared to David, or one of the other great men of the Bible who lived his life for God, and encouraged others to do the same.”
Jose Garces, Jr., VP of A&R for One Voice Records, concludes, “Even though our family’s company has been making Spanish Christian music for more than a decade, this is the first record we’ve produced especially for the CCM marketplace recording it first in English rather than in Spanish. We have learned how challenging it is to launch a label in this market, and could not be more encouraged by the response Freddie and this record have already received. Every indication is that this will be our breakthrough album by our breakthrough artist in the English-language marketplace.”
Unconditional will be distributed in the CCM market by Provident Music Distribution and in the Latin market by Latin Door Distribution.
