Franklin Graham to Hold Prayer March 2020 In Washington, DC
Across oue country, communities are hurting, people are divided, and fear and uncertainty abound. As turmoil surrounds us, Franklin Graham is inviting Americans to join him for a prayer march on the National Mall. Graham is urging people to come together on Sept. 26 to pray for our nation and our leaders—and to ask God to heal our land.
“Our country is in trouble like we haven’t seen in our lifetime. We have no hope, outside of God. We will not make it unless God’s people call on His Name for help,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse.
Beginning at noon at the Lincoln Memorial, Franklin Graham will hold a prayer March in our nation’s capitol. The group will cross the National Mall before ending in front of the U.S. Capitol. Along the 1.8 mile route, the Prayer March will stop for focused prayer for America, our communities and families, and our leaders. Graham expects thousands of believers to take part in the march.
“America is in trouble and in distress but we have hope—our hope is in Almighty God,” says Graham. “This is why we are asking men and women across this country to join together and do the most important thing we can do—pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Our families and churches can show all of Washington—and the nation—that we believe in the power of prayer and need more of God in America, not less. Our hope isn’t in Republicans or Democrats. Our hope is in God.”
“On Saturday, Sept. 26, we will meet at noon at the Lincoln Memorial and make our way to the U.S. Capitol, praying as we go. We will stop at key locations to ask God to heal the divisions in our nation, guide our leaders, protect our religious freedoms, and pour out His Spirit on America.”
Graham invites Christians to take a stand for Jesus Christ by joining the 2020 Prayer March. Graham believes a good turnout will show all of Washington—and the nation—that large numbers believe in the power of prayer and the need for more of God in America, not less.
