After 15-years of music, mission and service, 2004 and 2006 GRAMMY Awards winning Audio Adrenaline is saying “adios,” offering one more nod to its considerable fan base with ADIOS: The Greatest Hits releasing Aug. 1. As one of the industries top bands prepares to add a final chapter to its substantial career with the album and an aggressive tour itinerary through the end of this year, fellow artists laud the band’s legacy:
MercyMe
Bart Millard: Audio A is that band that made me want to be in a band! Our first big break was opening for Audio Adrenaline back in 1995, and we will be forever grateful. From time to time MercyMe is asked how we would want to be remembered when we decide to hang it up, and our answer is always the same: We hope people remember us as a band who had integrity on and off the stage, and tried our best to keep Christ the center of attention. Thank you Mark, Will, Ben and Tyler for accomplishing what we continue to strive for.
Nathan Cochran: …they were huge in my understanding of what it means to be a “Christian” band. How to, with every song, admit that you needed Christ and because of His faithfulness you had to tell the world about Him. And now that I have had the privilege to spend time with them and serve with them, I call myself blessed to have met such men of integrity and purpose. I will miss seeing them pour their hearts out (loudly) from stage…

Matt Thiessen: Congratulations on your Audio awesomeness! Some of the best times we can remember happened on tour with AudioA. They had this almost uncanny ability to bring fun to their fans through their music and create a good time. AudioA’s popularity can be proven with the fact that you couldn’t go to a church anywhere in the U.S. for 10 years and not hear one of their songs! AudioA’s music has withstood the test of time; even though they are done playing, we know their music will live on. Thanks for all the great times guys and good luck in what life brings you next.

I’m a big Audio Adrenaline fan, and I really appreciate what they’ve done. They’ve left a very significant, indelible mark on Christian music by making great music that was real and relevant while applying the truth of scripture in an honest, open way- a way in which you didn’t have to guess “what are they trying to say?” or “where are they going?” There was so much passion in the music and so many other things that they said that I really appreciate. I think it shaped where Christian music, especially where rock music is concerned, has gone.

When I first came on the scene, I was like; man these guys are cool and fun. And when they needed to be serious, they were. I love these guys and have always appreciated what they’ve done. I know that God is going to continue to use them no matter what they do, and I’m excited to see what’s going to happen.

Matt Hammitt: The first Christian music tape that I ever had was AudioA. I can’t tell you how much they influenced my life and were one of the staple bands in Christian music that made me want to be a part of it. Not only has their music impacted us, but we have also been influenced by just hanging out with AudioA. We’ll always love AudioA; they have been a huge part of our lives.

Rob Beckley: If it weren’t for AudioA you wouldn’t be hearing from me right now. They paved the way for rock in the Christian market and took a chance on us.
NEEDTOBREATHE
AudioA has been a huge influence of ours. One of the first rock concerts we ever went to, we were jumping up and down and singing, ‘We’re a Band.’ We actually just got to meet Mark and it was a huge honor and we barely knew what to say, but it’s really awesome to see what’s happened with you guys and know that you’ve touched a lot of people from NEEDTOBREATHE, we love ya!

Audio Adrenaline, we’re going to miss you! We’ve had many good times, and I hope I have the chance to buy all of your gear. We want your bus, we want- we just pretty much want to be you. We’re going to try and fill the void, but we’re not going to be able to do it. Those are some big shoes to fill. All you guys are going to be starting over with amazing new lives and I’m really proud of you. You guys had a huge influence on us and we’re going to miss you and hopefully we can stay in touch. Thank you!
