After a year’s absence, the Christian Activities website has been relaunched. Founded in 1992 as a local print publication, publisher Kathryn Darden says the online magazine will pick up where it left off. The Christian media outlet will continue covering Christian arts and entertainment, including music industry news, music reviews, concerts, movie reviews, book reviews and articles about Christian artists and personalities.
Christian Activities relaunches in time to bring good news and hope to people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I am thrilled to be back at the helm of my life’s work and eager to continue bringing good news and helpful articles to Christian Activities readers,” says Darden. “The new WordPress platform offers a lot of resources we did not have access to before. Christian Activities will have even more to offer. As people self-isolate during the Coronavirus lockdown, we will strive to deliver daily informational and inspirational content to encourage and inform.”
Darden began the publication as a one-page concert handout at Koinonia Christian Bookstore in Nashville. The newsletter assisted people in finding faith-based events and concerts at local churches and colleges. From there, it grew into a local magazine renamed Christian Activities Nashville. It became predominantly web-based in 1995.
Since its inception, Christian Activities has covered Christian entertainers and personalities ranging from Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Skillet to Billy Graham, Craig Groeschel and Tim Tebow to Whitney Houston, Randy Travis and Michael Jackson. The online magazine has published articles that have dealt with national and international news as well as book, movie and music reviews.
Christian music magazine celebrated 25 years of publication in 2017. Christian Activities relaunches now after moving from Drupal to WordPress during 2019 and overhauling the online magazine.
