Examiner.Com Is Closing but Gospel Music & Entertainment Examiner Will Continue Here

The Examiner.com website is closing its doors, but the Gospel Music & Entertainment Column will live on here. Owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group, Examiner boasted some 15 million unique visitors every month. The website announced on July 1 it would be closing on July 10, but as of the writing of this article, the site is still live.
According to some sources, Examiner’s demise began when parent company Anschutz Entertainment Group (a.k.a. AEG Worldwide) launched AXS two years ago. AXS.com spokesman Justin Jimenez said the decision was a result of the media landscape and media consumption being dramatically transformed.
Although the Gospel Music and Entertainment Examiner column written by Christian Activities publisher Kathryn Darden will be a thing of the past, those articles will be housed on the Christian Activities site where all future content will appear.
“I enjoyed my seven years writing for Examiner and am thankful for the platform they gave me to promote Christian music, arts and entertainment,” Darden states.
Darden was a pioneer writer for the website and began writing for Examiner on May 26, 2009 and continued writing for the site until it closed.
