Essential Records To Release Third Day’s OFFERINGS II

Essential Recording Artist Third Day is set to release Offerings II: All I Have To Give on
March 4 supported by a far-reaching marketing campaign. Excitement at retail, radio and media is already building for this follow up to the gold-selling Offerings record.
“The first Offerings record took everyone by surprise with its huge success. It was a record that Third Day made for their core fans, but instead became an
album beloved by a wide audience. We are excited about Offerings II: All I Have To Give and have positioned it to build on the success of the first
record,” said Nina Williams, vice president of marketing for Essential Records.
Among the highlights of the marketing plan is the first-of-its-kind digitally distributed cinema concert and album premier event to be held in 10 cities
nationwide on March 4. Regal CineMedia (RCM), the media subsidiary of Regal Entertainment Group, will host a special
screening of “Third Day Live in Concert – The Come Together Tour,” a concert film featuring documentary footage from the band’s spring 2002 tour
which was one of Pollstar’s top grossing tours last year. The Third Day Regal Theatre Concert Events will be held nine markets, including Los Angeles,
Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Grand Rapids and Knoxville. Third Day members will attend the event in their hometown
Atlanta.
Retail and radio will play a key role in the Regal Theater Event. After the screening, theater event, retailers will offer the Offerings II: All I Have To
Give CD for sale in the lobby of the theater. The first 300 moviegoers at each theater who buy the CD will also receive a free Third Day movie poster.
These retailers, along with local Christian radio stations and Regal, will be involved in aggressive promotion for the Regal CineMedia events and for the
Offerings II release.
“Third Day Live In Concert – The Come Together Tour,” the film that will be screened at the Regal events, will be released on DVD on April 1,
2003.
“The Regal Theater Event is an exciting way to celebrate the release of Offerings II. Third Day is one of the marquee artists in Christian music and we’re
proud that Regal has chosen them to be a part of their history making event,” said Brian Mitchell, vice president / general manager for Essential Records.
Third Day has already been busy with promotions in advance of the album. Last week, the band performed a post-race concert following the season opener
for the NASCAR Busch Series this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway. Prior to the start of Saturday’s Koolerz 300 Busch Series race, Third
Day’s lead singer, Mac Powell, sang the National Anthem broadcast live on FOX Sports.
Next week, the band will be in New York to attend several Grammy Award functions including the awards themselves, for which they are nominated for
Gospel Rock Album for Come Together.
Third Day will continue promoting the album over the next few months. First, they will participate in several key Gospel Music Events held the first
week of April, including the Christian Music and Video Retailer (CMVR) Field Trip Event and the Essential Records Monday Evening Concert at the
Ryman. The group is also up for multiple trophies for the Dove Awards on April 10. The band embarks on the second leg of its Come Together and
Worship Tour with Michael W. Smith in May and plans several summer festival headlining appearances.
Produced by Third Day and Monroe Jones (Chris Rice, Shaun Groves, Paul Colman Trio), Offerings II: All I Have To Give continues the live worship
experience captured on the gold-selling Offerings, and also presents new contemporary worship songs recorded in the studio that are destined to become
classics.
In 2002, Third Day captured multiple Dove Awards for Group of the Year (the second year in a row), Rock Album of the Year, and lead vocalist Mac
Powell was named Male Vocalist of the Year.
In addition to two major headlining tours in 2002, Third Day also performed at more than 17 festivals and special events, landing them in front of more than 750,000 people through the course of the year, leading promoters to title Third Day the
“touring artist of the year” and being honored by touring publication Pollstar, with a July cover. With three No. 1 radio singles in 2002 (“Show Me
Your Glory,” “Come Together,” “It’s Alright”), the band garnered attention from the music industry and music fans alike.
Over its ten-year career, the five-piece rock band has garnered 16 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, 18 No. 1 radio singles and has sold over three
million records. The group’s last three albums – Time, Offerings and Come Together have been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of
America (RIAA) within the past 18 months.
