Ernie Haase & Signature Sound joined musicians Reba McEntire, James Otto, Darryl Worley, Hal Ketchum and a host of Opry legends at the Grand Ole Opry for the group’s very first time in May 2009. Ernie, Doug, Ryan and Tim performed a Southern gospel set in vintage style around two microphones.
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound entertained their audience with their classics “My Heart Is A Chapel” and “Swingin’ On The Golden Gate” from their Influenced: Vintage Quartet Classics project. Segment host Jean Shepard brought the Southern gospel group out for an a capella encore to perform “Wonderful Grace of Jesus.”
Group founder Ernie Haase said about their Opry experience, “Ernie Haase & Signature Sound was totally overwhelmed by the response of the Grand Ole Opry and the crowd. Even though this was our ‘debut,’ we felt as though we were ‘home.’ The experience was a career highlight for all of us. What a night!”
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound was awarded a Dove Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year in April 2009 by the Gospel Music Association for “Reason Enough.”
