Fearing imminent reinstatement of his unjust 30-year sentence, Eric Volz, an American citizen whose sham conviction on murder charges in Nicaragua and subsequent release has been making headlines around the world since late 2006, will file an emergency petition with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) against the Republic of Nicaragua. The petition seeks to shed light on Nicaragua’s corrupt judicial system and reverse nearly three years of human rights violations against him by the Republic of Nicaragua.
Volz is a former resident of Nashville. Eric’s father, Jan Eric Volz, works in tour management in Nashville’s music industry.
