Easter: Christ Is Risen!

~ Easter: Christ Is Risen! He is risen indeed! ~

Resurrection Day, more commonly known as Easter, is arguably the most important holiday for on the Christian calendar. Our faith hinges on this cornerstone event. Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death on the cross. Luke 24:6-7 tells us, “He has risen!”

This one event defines our faith, that the Father loved us enough to send His Son, and the Son loved us enough to die for us that our sins might be forgiven and that we might also have eternal life with Him.

Resurrection Day marks Christ’s triumphant victory over death after his brutal death on the cross. It signals our hope that–just as Jesus rose from the dead–we, too, might rise from the dead to join Him.

Hallelujah! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed.

Easter Morning

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. They went in but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes. So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground.

“Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men. “He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘It is necessary the the Son of Man be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’?” And they remembered his words.
