Dr. Phillip Johnson Speaks at Belmont Church

Dr. Phillip E. Johnson, a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School, Phillip E. Johnson served as law clerk for Chief Justice Earl Warren
of the United States Supreme Court and has taught law for more than thirty years since at the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Johnson, a nationally recognized leader in the “intelligent design movement” attacking the foundations of Darwinian evolution, will appear at Belmont church in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 11 at 6:30pm. The title of his talk will be “What You Need to Know about Creation and Evolution.”
For the last decade, Dr. Johnson has been at the forefront of the public debate over
evolution and creation and has written several books on the subject including “Darwin on Trial,” “Defeating Darwinism by Opening Minds,” and “The Wedge of Truth: Splitting the Foundations of Naturalism.” Dr. Johnson is also the author of
two massive textbooks on criminal law: Criminal Law: Cases, Materials, and Text, 4th ed. (West Publishing, 1990) and Cases and Materials on
Criminal Procedure, 2nd ed. (West Publishing, 1994).
He is recognized as the leading spokesman for the intelligent design movement, and he has taken his message to such places
as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Johnson travels frequently to speak at conferences and with television and radio audiences.
He has appeared on Chuck Colson’s “Breakpoint,” on Business News Network’s “Consumer Hotline” and on James Dobson’s “Focus on the
Family,” among other shows. Johnson is an advisor to the Discovery Institute’s Center for the Renewal of Science and Culture (Seattle,
Washington).
