This weekend canine companions and their two-legged friends are welcome to enjoy the annual Dogs & Dogwoods celebration, at Cheekwood on April 22 and 23. Saturday marked the beginning of the two-day event, with overcast skies and a chilly breeze, but that didn’t deter dog lovers or their 4-legged friends.
Visitors are able to enjoy the dog-friendly spring weekend as they stroll through Cheekwood’s nationally certified dogwood collection, enjoy food trucks, special performances, local vendors, and more.

The grounds have red and black bows up in remembrance of the tragedy at Covenant School, a reminder that all of Nashville still stands with the school and mourns their loss.
Unfortunately, the dogwoods are not in bloom currently, so visitors have to enjoy the stately grounds or freshly planted small flowers that can be spotted low to the ground in some of the gardens. However, dogs of all shapes and sizes are certainly easy to spot!
Dog water stations and plastic bags are available in multiple locations to keep pets well-watered and the grounds clean. And, of course, the backdrop of the Cheekwood mansion and grounds makes any trip a photo op.

Some of the Dog and Dogwoods weekend amenities include:
Live Music in the Beer Garden
Saturday 12 PM | Christina Vane
Sunday 12 PM | Les Sabler Quartet
Food Trucks in the Beer Garden & Lot B
Saturday & Sunday 9 AM – 4:30 PM
Dog Vendors in Lot B
Saturday & Sunday 9 AM – 4:30 PM
Cheekwood has a special offer for dog lovers. Purchase a Cheekwood membership or gift membership from April 22-23 and get $10 off with promo code DOGS23. Plus, all onsite membership purchases during this event will receive a complimentary Cheekwood dog bandana! What’s not to love?
Check out Cheekwood’s Dogs and Dogwoods tomorrow. Sunday is the last day, and Fido and Spot deserve their day at the botanical gardens. Just don’t expect to see any dogwood blooms or breathtaking floral displays yet.
