Wild Bear
Lucy tries to befriend a bear, and is almost attacked. Trumpkin explains that the bear was wild. He says, “Get treated like a dumb animal long enough, and that’s what you’ll become. You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember.”
This scenario points out an issue that teenagers generally don’t want to hear, but instinctively know is true: what you listen to influences what you become. The influence of friends, parents, entertainment, magazines, videos, and television are pervasive. Unless we actively choose to surround ourselves with positive people and messages, we risk becoming something less than what we dream.
These two Scriptures reinforce this point:
* Bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33
* Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. 1 John 2:15-16
Don’t let “the world” or “bad company” turn you into a dumb animal!
Here’s a link to a cool story, with lots of photos, of the Prince Caspian musical score recording sessions that are going on right now at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.
