Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment presents Disney Animation Collection Volumes 1-6 on DVD. I recently watched the “Three Little Pigs” DVD, and it brought back fond childhood memories. As soon as the quaint, old-fashioned background music came on, I remembered listening to the theme song as a child. My brother and I had an older cousin who bequeathed her childhood collection of Peter Pan records to us several years after she outgrew them. We got the records after the heyday of Peter Pan 45s, so we were lucky to experience an already vintage entertainment form.
Now you and your children can experience a unique telling of some of your favorite storybook tales in this Disney Animation Collection of classic Disney short films on DVD. As an adult, I found little things in the cartoon I never noticed before as a child: the smart little pig’s piano is also built of brick, and there is a portrait of link sausage on his wall labeled “Father.” Full of colorful animation, music, and humor, the “Three Little Pigs” is a classic now available on DVD with other Disney animated classics including “Mickey And The Beanstalk,” “The Prince And The Pauper,” “The Tortoise And The Hare” (1934), “Wind In The Willows” and “The Reluctant Dragon.”
If you have a child, grandchild, or young nieces and nephews, you should definitely check out the Disney Animation Collection. Each DVD contains about an hour’s worth of animated shorts. The bonus shorts that come with the Disney Animation Collection “Three Little Pigs” DVD were: “The Big Bad Wolf,” “Three Little Wolves,” “Lambert The Sheepish Lion,” “Chicken Little,” “Three Blind Mouseketeers” and “Elmer Elephant.”
