Recognized as one of the most successful Christian bands in the world, Delirious? continues to be allowed unique platforms where they are eagerly sharing their faith.
They are often invited to perform with mainstream recording artists, and in August, they were invited by the Cultural Committee of Athens to perform at the Olympic celebrations in Greece.
“The dictionary definition of ‘delirious’ is to be wildly excited about something, which is fitting for us because we’re passionate about Christ, and we want to share that message with others,” lead singer Martin Smith said.
Before they were known as Delirious?, they were the worship team for “Cutting Edge” which was a monthly youth outreach at a church in Littlehampton, England.
Many songs written by Delirious? have become popular worship songs around the world, including “Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?,” “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever,” “Shout to the North,” and “My Glorious.”
Along with Smith, the five member band includes Stu Garrard (guitar), Jon Thatcher (bass), Tim Jupp (keyboard), and Stewart Smith (drums).
“We want people to leave our concerts knowing who God is and that worshipping Him is the key to successful living,” Martin Smith said.
And that message is being heard.
Fans have written the band to let them know how much their music has impacted them. In one email, a teenage girl said that after seeing Delirious? perform with a popular mainstream band, she bought their album and then started reading the Bible.
