Carol M. Swain, Ph.D., is a professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She also happens to be a Conservative Christian African American with traditional family views.
In today’s collegiate academic setting where “tolerance” has ironically become “intolerant” toward Judeo-Christian worldviews and African Americans who are conservative, she stands up to regular discrimination on campus for her politically incorrect values.
There have been outcries and petitions from students to oust her from her position, without much resistance from Vanderbilt’s administration. School officials have put out press releases separating themselves from her because “her values are not those of the university.” She is outspoken on numerous radio and TV programs, unveiling the growing hostility toward conservative and biblical viewpoints at colleges and universities.
Included here is a short newscast video about a petition that was brought against her.

Dr. Swain will be the Keynote Banquet Speaker for this year’s theme: “Cultural Engagement: Moving Forward in a Backward World.” Her keynote topic: Cultural Marxism and the Progressive University. She is also scheduled to do plenary sessions for professors and for students.
Ratio Christi Campus Apologetics Alliance has over 170 chapters at colleges and universities. Their mission is to teach students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus. These chapters also invite atheists, skeptics, and people of any religion to explore Christianity, discuss religious beliefs, and seek truth in a friendly environment.
Since 2014, RC has also launched thirty RC College Prep clubs for high school students and a ministry to professors called RC Prof.
The October event is open to the public and takes place near Charlotte, North Carolina (Fort Mill, S.C., about twenty minutes from Charlotte). A special white water rafting trip is included for students. See exciting details and register here!
Swain’s story of discrimination against her as a conservative educator also fits in with Ratio Christi’s recent website series, The Very Real Discrimination Against Christian Professors. Start Reading with Part I here.
