Connecticut Event Promotes Adoption, Safe Havens and CT ‘Choose Life’ Plate

The 2005 Charity Concert for Adoption — taking place this Sunday, November 13, at 1:30 pm at the magnificent Palace Theatre located at 61 Atlantic Street in Stamford, CT — is one of two important Connecticut events that will help promote and celebrate “National Adoption Awareness Month” in Connecticut this November (www.NationalAdoptionDay.org)
Sponsored by The Children First Foundation, this family-oriented event will help raise awareness and funding for important Adoption and Safe Haven efforts throughout Connecticut with a beautiful concert performed by the Stamford Symphony Orchestra that features works by Bach and Sibelius.
A pre-concert reception will honor Tim Jaccard, one of the founders of the Safe Haven movement, who will speak about his important Adoption and Safe Haven efforts in Connecticut. Three other notable speakers — William Hoey (Vice-President of Catholic Charities of Bridgeport), Corinn Dahm (host of the cable program “The Face of Pro-Life”) and Theresa Krankowski (Director of St. Gerard’s Pregnancy Resource Center) — will also speak about why “Adoption Means Love” from their own personal and love-filled experience with adoption.
Finally, Dr. Elizabeth Rex, President of The Children First Foundation, will give a brief history of the Connecticut “Choose Life” License Plate that was approved by the DMV in September 2003, that raises importance awareness and funding to help promote and support adoption as a loving choice for an unplanned pregnancy or newborn in the State of Connecticut.
Thanks to the “Choose Life” License Plate and the generosity of over 60,000 motorists in 13 different states (including Connecticut), over $5 million dollars have been raised and donated to Pregnancy Resource Centers and other pro-life agencies since the year 2000. Supporters donate an average of $25 a year in order to display their own state’s attractive “Choose Life” License Plate on their cars or trucks. Connecticut was the 9th state in the nation to approve the “Choose Life” License Plate which is issued by the DMV to any motorist in Connecticut by contacting The Children First Foundation.

Proceeds from Connecticut’s 2005 Charity Concert for Adoption will help fund important Adoption and Safe Haven efforts in Connecticut. Please contact your friends and family and invite them to “Celebrate Adoption in Connecticut”! Tickets may be purchased at the door.
