Conference on Family Wellness

Lipscomb University’s 2005 Conference on Family Wellness  presents Mark Gungor and “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” April 11. The conference will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Willard Collins Alumni Auditorium, on the campus, located at 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
Mark Gungor, of Laugh Your Way America, is a nationally-known therapist, lecturer and comedian on the topic of strong marriages. He uses a humoristic approach to the subject that appeals especially to men, said Dr. John Conger, professor of family and consumer sciences and chair of the department.
“So often, when the conversation turns to relationships, men turn off. However, the research is resounding in the importance of men to families, so we want to bring a program that will speak to the men as well as women. Gungor is one of the best I’ve ever seen at doing this,” said Conger. “In an effort to reach more men, we realize we have to use a format that is male-friendly.”
The annual Conference on Family Wellness is the result of a student project sponsored by the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Conger serves as the faculty advisor to the student planning group.
Admission to the conference is $10. Tickets may be purchased through the Department of Family & Consumer Sciences. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 279.6108, or 800.333.4358, ext. 6108.
