Concert of Prayer on the National Day of Prayer

THE OPPORTUNITY BEGINS WITH THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER ON THURSDAY, MAY 5, 2005.
This is the beginning of  answers to years and years of prayers!  Starting in 2005 and continuing until 2010, Nashville has been chosen as the HOST CITY for the Nationally Broadcast Concert of Prayer on the National Day of Prayer.
The National Day of Prayer (this year) is the “Day of Ascension,” the day that our Messiah, “was taken up into the sky while they were watching, and He disappeared into a cloud.”  Jeshua (Jesus) had just said, “When the Holy spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about Me everywhere…”  The disciples met together continually for prayer and ten days later, the Holy Spirit came.
Ten Days Later…Pentecost!
“Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them, and it filled the house where they were meeting.  Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.  And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”
2000 years later…………
Arising from Africa.     In 2001, one stadium in Cape Town, South Africa was filled with 45,000 people to pray. In 2002, it expanded to eight stadiums and 350,000. A year later in 2003, 2.5 million gathered in 130 stadiums. On May 2, 2004, the movement exploded to nearly ten times the size. More than 22 million rallied in prayer at more than 2,000 sites throughout every single country on the continent of Africa (56 nations). Leaders from most major traditions of Christian faith called their people to join in this historic act of united prayer. 2005, African leaders are inviting Christians around the world to pray with them.  It will be the first ever Global Day of Prayer.
All together in many places. As dawn broke on the first Pentecost, Christians were gathered “all together in one place” (Acts 2:1). On Pentecost on May 15, 2005, many millions of Christians will again be all together, but in many places. We’ll join together in prayers of blessing for the nations, praying in one accord for the biblical hope of Christ’s greater glory and the transformation of all nations.
Joining together, beginning on the Day of Ascension, NDP:
Gathering on the National Day of Prayer, publicly, at the Gaylord Entertainment Plaza here in Nashville from 11:30 – 12:30 on Thursday, May 5. Praying for and joining by television that evening for the Concert of Prayer originating at the Ryman Auditorium.  Perhaps getting together a group at your church.
May 5-15, 2005. Ten days of constant prayer. On the evening of Ascension Day, May 5, millions the world over will begin by joining their prayers night and day for ten days.
May 15, 2005. The Global Day of Prayer. On Pentecost Sunday, Christians in many lands are planning to assemble in massive gatherings in stadiums and open squares. In other places, believers will gather in homes and other public venues. To help connect and align prayers even more, there will be six hours of live broadcast, one hour from each continental area. The signal will be relayed by satellite, radio and Internet so that many millions will be linked simultaneously all over the world. The same broadcast will be repeated so that people in any time zone can take part on Pentecost afternoon or evening.

May 16 – August 12, 2005. Ninety days of blessing. As on the first Pentecost, transformed Christians transform their communities, becoming the answer to their own prayers. The Global Day of Prayer anticipates the forming or furthering of local alliances among pastors, congregations, mission agencies, and business leaders to bring practical, transformational blessing to their cities and communities.
