Musical comedian Travelin’ Max will bring his award-winning comic show
to Bluefield College, Thursday, September 22. The Travelin’ Max Show, set to
begin at 9 p.m. in the school’s Student Activities Center, is open and free
to the public.
A touring stand-up comedian since 1992, Travelin’ Max has opened and
shared billing with a host of nationally-known performers, including Sister
Hazel, Tony Hawk, and Naughty by Nature. A member of the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) since 1997, Max has been awarded the APCA Performer of the Year Award in 2004, 2003 and 2001. He was also named the APCA Solo Artist of the Year in 1999.
“The Travelin’ Max Show is simply great,” said Worcester State College
in Maine. “Our students love him. He always does a super, high-energy show
and gets a great deal of audience participation.”
The Travelin’ Max Show is best known for its audience participation.
With a wireless guitar and microphone, Max constantly roams around and
interacts with the audience. One of the more unusual features of his show is
the fact that he keeps the stage mics open “for all who wish to join in the
spotlight.”
“People in the audience are always invited to join me on stage,” Max
said. “I even have song lists and lyric sheets available to help sing along.
It makes for some hilarious and unforgettable moments.”
Featured in a variety of performer magazines, including “Programming
Magazine” and “Campus Activities Today,” Max also appeals to every member of
the audience through his diverse music incorporated into the show. His show
repertoire includes hundreds of songs from the 1950s to today, virtually
every kind of music appealing to all ages.
“It’s 100 percent clean,” Max said about the musical show, “so there’s
something here for everyone.”
Add in tons of giveaways, contests, prizes, props and dancing, and you
get the most interactive, entertaining show in town.
“I have interactive games and contests. I lead conga lines. I bring
people on stage, and I get your entire crowd involved with the show,” Max
said. “More importantly, I get them involved with each other. It’s the
perfect icebreaker.”
