Christian Funny Man to Perform at Bluefield College

Christian comedian Cory Edwards will perform live on the campus of
Bluefield College, Tuesday, October 9 as part of the school’s Comedy Club

For more than ten years, Edwards has been entertaining audiences across
the country. As a stand-up comic, he has performed in 12 states for live
audiences of up to 3,000. His show stops include the likes of the Los
Angeles Comedy Store and the infamous Improv.

In addition to his stand-up, Edwards has directed and written for the
comic variety show, “Cheap Thrills,” and has appeared as a character actor
in more than 100 commercials, videos and film projects. He served four years
as a vee-jay/host for Contemporary Christian Music-TV and was the on-air
host of the nationally syndicated radio show, “Reasons to Believe.” He also
hosted a live national television special broadcast from Disneyworld, and
combining his comedic skills and off-the-cuff hosting experience, he served
as the master of ceremonies for the Gospel Music Association Spotlight

Aside from his experience in front of the camera, Edwards is a comic
illustrator who has been known to wow his audiences with impromptu sketches
to accompany his stand-up. In all of his work, however, he has more to say
than just something funny.

“I want to be careful not to take for granted the talent I’ve been
given,” Edwards said. “The only thing I can do is give it back to God and to
the people around me. I am very fortunate to be able to say that I really
love what I do. Sometimes I have to soak in the fact that I’m not just doing
a job to live, I’m living a job. And, that job is a special calling I don’t
take lightly.”

Edwards’ Bluefield College show will begin at 9 p.m. in the school’s
Student Activities Center in Shott Hall. The event is open and free to the
public. For more information, please call the BC Office of Public Relations
