Christ Church will host W.O.R.D. Connection, a monthly event for women, beginning Thursday, June 27 at
7pm. W.O.R.D. Connection, led by Carol Bryant, Director of Women’s Ministries at Christ Church, is designed to
draw women of all ages and all spiritual backgrounds by addressing the needs of women in today’s world with
answers found in God’s Word.
Bryant, an ordained minister who has spoken throughout the U.S., Canada, Israel, and Ukraine, recently
completed a teaching series for the Nashville Christian Women’s Network. As the featured speaker for W.O.R.D.
Connection, she hopes to offer much more than the traditional Bible study.
“W.O.R.D. Connection, (which includes the abbreviation for “Women Of Royal Destiny”), offers a monthly
gathering for women, centered in worship and Bible-based teaching, with real-life applications for today’s special
challenges,” Bryant said. “It is our desire to instill Godly principles and encourage consistency in applying those
principles on a daily basis,” she added.
An all-female band has been assembled to lead praise and worship, including guitars, keyboards, drums, and
vocals. “We are blessed to have such a range of talent available to us. These women are anointed in the areas of
music and worship, and they will be an integral part of these events,” Bryant said.
“W.O.R.D. Connection is intended for women who are hungry for consistency in their Bible studies and who
want to know God in a more personal way. This will provide an opportunity to grow with God and one another,
offering a sense of community for women,” she said. “We also hope to see a blending of generations so
mentoring relationships can be established,” she added.
The W.O.R.D. Connection format is a simple one. It will begin with praise and worship, followed by the
teaching session, with prayer ministry available the last 15 minutes.
Christ Church Senior Pastor L.H. Hardwick, Jr. is enthusiastic about this new Women’s Ministries program.
“W.O.R.D. Connection is a program born through the need and desire to reach more of the women of our church
and community with God’s timeless truth and undying love,” Hardwick said. “This spirit-filled teaching will address
the needs of women in today’s hectic and challenging world,” he added.
Free weekly devotional materials will also be available through “The Connector,” a newsletter connecting the
monthly teachings with inspirational articles and home Bible studies to provide continuity for the series.
Information on other programs and classes offered by Christ Church Women’s Ministries will also be available.
“Our goal is not only to draw women together for teaching, ministry, prayer, and worship on a regular basis, but
to motivate them toward an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ in their own daily lives,” Bryant said.
W.O.R.D. Connection will be held the last Thursday of every month, 7pm-8:30pm at Christ Church located at
15354 Old Hickory Blvd. in Nashville between Edmondson Pike and Nolensville Road.
In addition to June 27, other scheduled dates include July 25, August 22, September 26, October 24, and
November 21.
