Charlie Peacock Moves to the Front

ForeFront Records announces new leadership in its A&R and New Media & Promotion departments to further advance the label’s growth, according to Greg Ham, President. Charlie Peacock has been named Interim Head of A&R, and Mark Adkison is appointed to the new position of Vice President of New Media and Promotion. Both will join the ForeFront senior management team on April 1.
“Today’s announcement demonstrates our commitment to achieve excellence and greatness in our business. We have seen amazing success over the years; so in planning for our future, I knew it would involve continued change to meet the challenges ahead. After praying and seeking consultation, I am confident that these appointments will contribute to ForeFront’s future growth,” said Ham.
Peacock’s role at ForeFront will be to direct the day-to-day A&R activities and to provide guidance for ForeFront?s A&R managers, Mark Nicholas and Steve Hartley. He will also help Ham to identify candidates to fill the A&R leadership function permanently. While at ForeFront, Peacock will continue his own creative endeavors as a songwriter, producer and author.
Peacock has earned a global reputation for his innovative and genre-transcending work as an artist, songwriter, record producer, musician, and writer. As a songwriter, more than 200 of his songs have been recorded including 16 #1 Christian radio hits. As producer, Peacock is the only three-time recipient of the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Award for Producer of the Year, and has been named by Billboard’s Encyclopedia of Record Producers as one of the “500 Most Important Record Producers in Music History.” Finally, as an artist, musician and writer, Peacock has become the most widely respected voice on the intersection of faith and music.
“Charlie is, without a doubt, one of the most creative minds in music and he also has a formidable track record of finding and nurturing equally creative and talented artists. We are privileged that he has agreed to be part of our team during this time in our label?s development,” said Ham.
Peacock commented, “Everything about this new role with ForeFront is positive, especially the opportunity to work with Greg Ham in vision-casting the future of ForeFront’s A&R culture and philosophy. This is work I love to do — inspiring, coaching, mentoring, and dreaming musical dreams with the people of God for the glory of God. I’m grateful to be on the team.”
Adkison was most recently Senior Director of New Media at EMI CMG where he
was responsible for all Internet partnerships and the development of EMI CMG
web properties. He helped launch the first ever label-sanctioned streaming
music subscription service online at Higherwaves.com and created the highly
successful HearItFirst.com. He returns to ForeFront where he previously
held the position of Senior Director of Promotion. He will oversee the new
media and promotion efforts including web development, radio promotion,
church promotions, street teams, and video promotions. In addition, Mark
will continue to maintain the HearItFirst.com website (an EMI CMG
initiative).
“I’m very excited about returning to ForeFront in this new role and look
forward to working with Greg and the rest of the team on achieving new goals
and objectives for the label. I?m energized by the opportunity to be back
in a leadership role cultivating and growing this business,” said Adkison.
Also making the move from EMI CMG to ForeFront will be Cindy Arnold. Arnold
will be the project manager for new media and will report directly to
Adkison.
“Mark knows the ForeFront culture from having been part of the team before
moving to EMI CMG to head the new media efforts there. We’re glad to have
him back in his new, expanded role,” said Ham. “He will bring diverse
experience to the job and infuse creativity into the various areas he’ll oversee.”
Effective immediately, Vice President of A&R & Creative David Bach and
Director of Promotion Ken Farley will leave the company. “We appreciate
David and Ken?s contributions to ForeFront and we wish them the best in
their future endeavors,” said Ham.
