Charlie Daniels to Appear on Billy Graham TV Special
Grammy Award and Dove Award-winning recording artist Charlie Daniels is featured on the Billy Graham television special, “Starting Life Over Again,” which is slated to air nationally between March 4 and March 15. The Charlie Daniels Band will perform “I Saw The Light” and “I’ll Fly Away” from Daniels’ new Sparrow recording, How Sweet The Sound: 25 Favorite Hymns and Gospel Greats. In addition to a message from Billy Graham, Fernando Ortega and George Beverly Shea will also be featured on the program.
The Charlie Daniels Band is slated to hit the road again in March, with stops throughout the year to include Chicago; Oklahoma City; Fort Worth, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; Salem, Oregon; and Birmingham, Alabama, among many other markets. Daniels will be featured at a Franklin Graham Crusade in College Station, Texas, in May, and the Band will perform at the Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming State Fairs this summer, among other events. Later this month, Daniels will perform for U.S. troops stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and in September, the CDB is slated to perform in Korea.
How Sweet The Sound: 25 Favorite Hymns and Gospel Greats is Daniels’ third Sparrow recording. Daniels’ first Sparrow recording, The Door, released in 1994, followed by Steel Witness in 1996. With three triple platinum, four platinum and three gold records to his credit, Daniels has received five Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, two Grammy Awards and two Dove Awards, and has released 39 recordings since 1971.
