Bluefield College Hosts Prayer Breakfasts

Bluefield College will host its monthly Business and Professional Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday, February 6, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

First Century Bank’s Ron Hypes will offer the devotion for the February
6 breakfast. Hypes, a 1982 Bluefield College alumnus, is a comptroller with
First Century Bank in Bluefield, West Virginia. He is also an elder and
chair of the Board of Directors at First Christian Church in Bluefield.

A full breakfast buffet will be provided during the February 6
gathering, along with fellowship, prayer and Hypes¹ devotion. The monthly
Prayer Breakfast meetings at BC are designed to strengthen the college¹s
relationships with area business leaders and professionals, while providing
an opportunity for community fellowship. Most importantly, according to
Teresa Stanley, coordinator of the monthly gatherings, the prayer breakfasts
are a venue for community prayer and spiritual growth.

“The Prayer Breakfasts are becoming a viable part of our college and a
viable part of the community,” Stanley said. “This is a time of fellowship
and prayer for everyone. Our hope is that during this time we can share our
concerns and needs. This is not a Bluefield College event. It’s a community
event.”

Area residents are encouraged to attend the February 6 gathering. Those
interested should RSVP by calling 276-326-4555. The breakfast will take
place in Shott Hall on the BC campus. A love offering will be taken at the
door to cover meal expenses.

The BC Prayer Breakfast speaker for March 6 will be Alice Edwards, a
retired doctor’s office manager and member of First Baptist Church,
Bluefield, West Virginia.
