Blue Ridge Jamboree Features Mayberry Deputy

Bluegrass and Old-Time Music and the Mayberry Deputy take center stage Saturday, Jan.
18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Andy Griffith Playhouse, 218 Rockford St., Mount Airy, N.C., during the monthly Blue Ridge Jamboree. Hubert Lawson & the
Country Bluegrass Boys, Southland, and Dewey Farmer & Powder Creek are the featured bands in January.
Master of Ceremonies and “Mayberry Deputy” David Browning, along with Tim Chadwick, welcome local and regional bands for an evening full of
pickin’, grinnin’ and dancin’ while the “Mayberry Deputy” entertains with his down home Mayberry sense of humor.
The Surry Arts Council is hosting the event every third Saturday night of the month in 2003. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased at the door.
Children 6 and under get in free. Group tours are welcome but advance reservations are suggested so that the group can be seated together.
