Blind Boys of Alabama to Release Rare Classic

The Original Blind Boys of Alabama, will release a rare classic on June 27, 2006. Gregota Music Group, owned by Hayward Gregory, has signed a label deal with Alliant Music Group to release the original recording from Clarence Fountain & The Blind Boys of Alabama with Samuel Butler Jr., entitled Rare Classics.
Rare Classics features the original members of the Blind Boys of Alabama; Clarence Fountain, Caleb Butler, Ollice Thomas and manager Sam Butler Jr. Along with Jimmy Carter, J.T. Clint Scalle, and Joe Watson who were members of The Blind Boys of Mississippi for the ASCAP and United Gospel Association Award-Winning production of “The Gospel At Colonus.”
Rare Classics is a project that includes several unreleased cuts from the world-renowned group. The Blind Boys of Alabama have sold millions of records worldwide and were one of the premier groups to hit the gospel music scene. “It is an honor to work with the Original Blind Boys of Alabama, they are truly living legends,” says Paul Wright, President of Alliant Music Group.
Each song is written and lead by Clarence Fountain and/or Sam Butler Jr. “In My Heart,” tells the story of a person wanting the love of God and earnestly wanting to not only be a Christian, but to also show others how to live like Jesus. “Traveling Shoes” is a testimony to being ready for the tests and trials that God has requested of his people.
