Fervent Records’ best-selling band, Big Daddy Weave, is slated to release its highly anticipated sophomore album, Fields Of Grace, Sept. 30. The recording follows its 2002, Top-5 Christian SoundScan industry debut, One And Only.
Produced by Big Daddy Weave’s own Jeremy Redmon and Mike Weaver, Fields Of Grace demonstrates the heart behind the band’s ministry. Lyrically, the songs provide a glimpse of Big Daddy Weave’s life as a band, embodying one’s personal journey with God. Musically, the sounds capture the style of how one would hear Big Daddy Weave live.
“It is really cool for Fervent to trust our creativity, allowing us to experience the awesome process of producing an album,” says Big Daddy Weave’s Mike Weaver. “Fields Of Grace is about dealing with everyday life and how we respond to God’s presence, revealing the things about which we’re excited, the ways He has blessed us and, at the same time, the things with which we struggle.”
Finishing 2002 with a significant tour with Rebecca St. James, Big Daddy Weave’s Fields Of Grace will be supported by a major, 46-city tour this Fall with FFH. Launching in Columbia, SC, Sept. 11 and traversing the nation through late November, the tour will visit such markets as Houston, Baltimore, Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Baton Rouge, Detroit and Phoenix, among others. Currently, Big Daddy Weave is debuting new songs from its upcoming project live at several music festivals nationwide.
Last year, out of 108 new artists released in the CBA market, Big Daddy Weave was the only one to debut in the Top 5 at Christian SoundScan, becoming the best selling “New Artist of the Year” Dove nominee and appearing on WoW Worship Yellow and Dove Hits 2003. Additionally, Big Daddy Weave’s first single, “In Christ,” became the highest charting AC single for a new artist in 2002.
