Bellevue Hechts-Macy’s Surpasses Food Collection Goals!

During the month of June, Hecht’s-Macy’s at Bellevue Center participated in their first Partners In Time volunteer outreach with Bag Hunger, collecting food for Second Harvest Food Bank.
The goal set by the Macy’s corporate office for the Bellevue store was 2, 814 pounds. The actual amount of food collected by the Bellevue Hecht’s-Macy’s was 3,625 pounds, according to Partners In Time Coordinator, Mary Ellen Aurelius. “We surpassed our goal by 129%,” states Aurelius.
Bag Hunger Coordinator, Kathryn E. Darden, says the credit goes to the employees. “Everyone chipped in and brought bags of food, or donated money to buy food, or participated in some other way. I really think we may have had 100% storewide participation.”
The Bellevue Hecht’s-Macy’s store is now participating in another Partners In Time fundraiser for Reading Is Fundamental. For more information, call 646-5500.
