Autumn and Renewal

When fields of green have turned to sandy browns
And scattered yellows dot the hillside grounds;
Autumn winds prepare both shrub and tree
for winter’s quiet solace where they cleave.
The months of former foliage God removes
Until with autumn rains He comes and soothes.
The seasons of a tree and the heights of each
begins when autumn winds begin to sweep.
Another year and season they shall bare
Though hard the winter nights, spring will repair
The barrenness and emptiness of each.
That begins when autumn winds begin to sweep.
When lives encounter “autumns” and display
A life when all the “leaves” are stripped away,
know that there is hope beyond this season
and for every trial endured there is a reason.
Though there are times when difficulties thrive,
Obey His word and know He’s standing by!
Every autumn starts a harvest yet to reap
That starts when humble hearts begin to weep.
The loss of former things He will remove,
and soon the autumn rains will come and sooth.
The renewal of His own, God works in each
That starts when humble hearts begin to weep.
Deuteronomy 11:13-15
”So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today-to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul- then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.”
