Orlando-based rock band Fireflight headlined New York City’s famed rock venue The Knitting Factory with labelmates Nevertheless on Tuesday, September 16, as part of its “Unbreakable Tour.”
9/21/8 Christian music pop/rock band, Downhere, will launch their fall tour September 20th in Uniontown, Pennsylvania three days before the street date of their new CD, Ending Is Beginning. Joining Downhere on tour as the featured guest is the Michael Gungor Band.
9/18/8 Former Newsboys bassist and support vocalist Phil Joel unleashes “The New Normal” this week, his fifth solo project and follow up to 2006’s “Deliberate People” CD. Offered for free or whatever fans can afford via, the project’s first single, “Call Unto Me,” also impacts AC & CHR Christian radio Friday, September 19th.
9/13/8 Along with three compelling new original songs, The Voice showcases David Phelps amazing tenor voice as he interprets some of pop music’s most beloved classics, breathing new life into such favorites as “Unchained Melody” and “I Want to Know What Love Is” with his inimitable voice. He also serves up an impressive rendition of opera legend Luciano Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” and a soul-stirring version of the hymn “Angel Band.” Produced with friend and collaborator Monroe Jones, The Voice has been called the project that David Phelps “was born to create.”
Washington, DC-based gospel artist Kevin LeVar will release his national debut Let’s Come Together on September 16, 2008, via God Glorified Music/Habakkuk Music and Universal Music Christian Group. The album’s title sums up the singer/songwriter’s music and ministry, crossing all cultural and racial boundaries thanks to a combination of modern gospel, R&B, pop, latin and traditional praise and worship.

Integrity Music announces the Christian retail release of The Sound, the long-awaited new studio album from platinum-selling Gospel duo Mary Mary. The Sound will be available in Christian retail stores beginning October 21 through Provident-Integrity Distribution.
9/11/8 Grammy winning, multi-platinum recording artists Casting Crowns, who sold 450,000 tickets in more than 80 cities during its last outing, will headline the 14-city “Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration” with a full orchestra and choir touring this November and December, performing songs from their first and highly anticipated Christmas Album, Peace On Earth. The tour, billed as Casting Crowns Christmas Celebration, will feature special guest, three-time GMA Dove Award winning Female Vocalist of the Year, Natalie Grant, Denver & The Mile High Orchestra, Avalon, Michael English and new music from Radio Disney favorites, pureNRG.

9/3/8 Singer/songwriter Mary-Kathryn recently performed “Psalm 91” from her latest Rhythm House Records CD, Dreams & Visions, on CBN’s “The 700 Club,” where she also shared her testimony and was interviewed by host Gordon Robertson. Enthusiastically received by the show, Robertson prefaced the interview by telling Mary-Kathryn, “I really love your album…I’ve got it in my iPod.”
9/2/8 Grammy-nominated worship band Sonicflood is slated to perform an acoustic set during the Wednesday morning Prayer Breakfast during the National Republican Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 3rd, 2008. Former Congressman J. C. Watts will serve as a guest speaker for the event.
Merrell Music is gearing up for the upcoming release of Under Construction, the new DVD by award-winning children’s entertainer and recording artist Cowboy Dan Harrell. Krystal Meyers will release her third, in-studio album, Make Some Noise, on September 9, 2008. The 10-track project, entirely written or co-written by Meyers, was recorded in Brentwood, Tenn. at Dutchland Studio. Meyers will be heading out this fall on the 16-city Revolve Tour. The tour, which will play all arenas and is expected to attract 140,000 people, begins the weekend after the September 9 release of Krystal’s new album in Columbus, Ohio. The second weekend of the tour takes Krystal to Dallas, Tex., where on the morning of September 19, shewill perform live on the Dallas morning TV show, “Good Day Dallas” (Dallas FOX-TV affiliate).

Sept. 5-6, Christian music lovers from across the country will come together at Disney’s Hollywood Studios� for its annual spirit-filled music celebration, “Night of Joy,” held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Provident artists set to perform are New Artist of the Year Brandon Heath on Friday, Sept. 5, with GRAMMY-nominated, modern rock band Red and Christian music�s four-time Group of the Year Casting Crowns both performing Saturday, Sept. 6.
Bart Millard recently taped a special Hymned Again episode of the Gospel Music Channel’s Kitchen Sink program which is scheduled to air on September 27th.

Rush of Fools will release their sophomore project, Wonder of the World, on September 16, 2008.
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based rock quintet, Nevertheless, will release its second studio album, In the Making�, on September 16, 2008. The eleven-track project was produced by Rob Hawkins (Fireflight, Jackson Waters), and was recorded in Nashville, Tenn.
Sara Groves’ first Christmas album, O Holy Night, which will bow on INO Records this October 14th, features the magnificent story of Bethlehem along with the sounds of yuletide gathering of friends and family.
