4/19/7 Dove Award nominee and Gold-selling recording artist Rick Cua recently inked a distribution deal with TAG Artist Group, the fourth-largest Christian distributor of exclusive product. After a stellar career in both the mainstream and Christian music arenas that includes two Gold records with the legendary group, The Outlaws, 11 solo albums and a half-dozen #1 hit songs on Christian radio, Cua is gearing up for the release of his first TAG Artist Group album, Won’t Fade Away (All For The King Music). Won’t Fade Away celebrates Cua’s silver anniversary in music ministry.

4/17/7 Beatmart Recordings has scouted and signed another hip-hop music talent— Eric Cross of Milwaukee, Wisconsin—and is excited to begin recording shortly for a late 2007 release. Shannon Vick aka Eric Cross, whose first solo project “The Message” was awarded Milwaukee’s Holy Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in 2006, met label A&R and producer Todd Collins at Flavor Fest in Tampa, Florida, in November 2006, and was signed to Beatmart Recordings in February 2007.
4/16/7 Acclaimed indie worship artist Jason Upton will release Beautiful People, his first CD in a new distribution relationship with Integrity Music on May 29.
4/14/7 Newly formed Christian record label KTC Music has signed singer-songwriter Gregory Paul Smith to a long-term recording agreement. Produced by Eric Copeland and engineered by Grammy-Award winner Ronnie Brookshire (Nichole Nordeman, Michael W. Smith, Wynonna, Steven Curtis Chapman), Smith’s debut CD, I Can Live Again, will be released May 29th through a partnership with Creative Soul Records and Infinity Music Distribution.

4/9/7 Award-winning Christian recording artist Sean Smith was named Male Vocalist of the Year at the The 2007 Momentum Awards, which were handed out on Saturday, March 31st at the annual CIA Summit in Franklin, Tennessee. Smith also picked up four awards at last year’s ceremony, including Album of the Year for his CD REAL, which was originally released independently in 2005. After healthy internet sales and strong reviews, the CD was released nationally in March 2007 through TAG Artist Group.
4/2/7 On April 24, young people across the country will participate in American Life League’s National Pro-Life T-shirt Day by wearing shirts with pro-life messages. This year’s event is expected to be a success as schools, youth groups and individuals across the country have pledged to participate. NPTD recently gained an extra boost when the award-winning popular Christian band Sonicflood signed on in support of the event.
4/1/7 Three time Grammy Award-Winners and Gospel Music Hall of Famers, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, are undoubtedly shuffling around a few trophies to find space for one of their most recent award statues including the 22nd Annual James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award recipients by the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy. On April 3, 2007, The Mighty Clouds of Joy plan to keep things Movin’ with the release of their 37th full-length CD. For their latest release, The Mighty Clouds of Joy have once again enlisted the production and songwriting of Sanchez Harley, also producer of their critically acclaimed 36th album In The House Of The Lord – Live In Houston. Clouds’ lead singer, Joe Ligon suggests you B.Y.O.P (bring your own praise) for this one.

Platinum-selling worship leader and pianist Terry MacAlmon will be joined by a full orchestra for the first leg of his nationwide “Holy!” tour beginning in March. The “Holy!” tour is set for both a spring and fall run of dates. MacAlmon will do a Good Friday performance in Tucson, AZ on April 6th, then onto Tulsa, OK on April 12th, Dallas, TX on April 17th, Minneapolis, MN on May 15th and finally New York City on May 17th. Fall tour dates are tentatively slated for Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; Orlando, FL; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA, and a return to Minneapolis. Each night’s performance will pair MacAlmon on piano with the symphonies from those host cities.
With the latest installment from two-time Dove Award-winning rapper KJ-52, The Yearbook treats listeners to a musical flashback of school days and life lessons learned this coming April 10th. KJ-52’s The Yearbook, serves up topics with both seriousness and some just plain fun. Songs include “Fanmail” based on letters KJ-52 has received about kids cutting themselves, struggling with sexuality, divorce, and alcohol and what to do when faith doesn’t make sense. The song “It Ain’t Easy Being Tweezy” pokes fun at the KJ-52 being a white rapper and sometimes being mistaken for a band instead of solo act.
TAG Artist Group has announced the signing of former Avalon member Cherie Adams to a long-term distribution agreement. Adams’ solo debut, The Sweet Life, will be in stores April 10th. Adams spent five years with Avalon, performing for fans all over the world and achieving two gold records, 11 number-one singles, an American Music Award, two Dove Awards and two Grammy nominations. Now she is now sharing her personal testimony on her debut solo release, on which she co-wrote eight of the eleven songs.
Sandi Patty releases her 25th career recording Falling Forward along with a companion book of the same name April 10. In just this year alone, Patty will perform in over 27 Women of Faith conferences, star in her very own three-night Broadway series, “Sandi Patty’s Broadway,” perform at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and will also be the voice of Helda in the 2008 release of The Easter Story by Animated Family Films and much more. The April 10 release titled, Falling Forward is a collection of both well-known and new songs of worship, redemption, restoration and the encompassing sufficiency of God. The songs on this record come from recent life events including the joy of seeing her eldest daughter’s marriage to the painful loss of her stepchildren’s mother from cancer.
As the Family Force 5 “crunk-rock” phenomenon continues to build, the band has been recognized yet again, this time with a Dove Award nomination for “Rock Album of the Year” for their debut release Business Up Front, Party In The Back (Maverick/Gotee). Gotee will release the Business Up Front, Party In The Back: Diamond Edition on March 20th, with three new songs and expanded packaging added to the original album. The band is currently on tour with Disciple (SRE Recordings) before heading out with Tobymac for dates throughout March and April, and major festival dates throughout the summer.

Curb recording artist and GMA’s reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, Natalie Grant, has completed work on her seventh album and first studio recording in two years. The forthcoming project, produced by Grant’s husband, Bernie Herms, and longtime collaborator Shaun Shankel, is slated for release later this year. Following the birth of her twin daughters last week, Grant will return to the spotlight on April 25 as co-host of The 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards.
