The April Fool’s Tour featuring John Reuben, Spoken and North of OK,
made a stop on the campus of Central Missouri State University last
Thursday night. The tour was the grand finale of “Res Week,” a week-long celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Playing to a crowd mixed of enthusiastic high schoolers and cool
college kids, John Reuben and company entertained and aimed to please.
Reuben mainly showcased songs from his newly released Professional
Rapper, an album with a bit more edge and rock to it.
Reuben kicked off the set with “Move,” a dance-friendly number that got
everyone up and obeying the title. Mixing old school with the new
stuff, Reuben delivered an energetic, crowd-pleasing performance. So
much so, that the crowd begged Reuben for more–even after his
scheduled encore of the favorite “Do Not.”
This is where my admiration for Reuben grew as he let whoever wanted to
jump up on stage and freestyle. Some kids had rhythm, others, well,
didn’t. But everyone will remember the night they got to show their
skills and rap with John Reuben.
With North of OK and Tooth and Nail’s newly signed Spoken as the
opening acts, the April Fool’s Tour came and conquered. Check out the
remaining dates of the tour at johnreuben.com.
