Veteran actor, singer, performer and storyteller Andy Griffith was nominated for a 2004 Dove Award. Griffith’s 2003 Christmas album, The Christmas Guest, was nominated for Country Album of the Year.
The Dove nominees represent the wide range of artists in gospel music today. In addition to Griffith, contemporary pop’s Steven Curtis Chapman, mainstream breakouts Switchfoot and Stacie Orrico, traditional gospel’s CeCe Winans and rockers Third Day lead the diverse list of nominees.
