Word recording artist Amy Grant takes to the road next month for a
20+-city fall tour in support of her new studio project, Legacy…Hymns & Faith. Grant will be joined by Word
label mate Fernando Ortega for the “Legacy, Hymns & Faith” tour starting on September 6 in Atlanta and
wrapping up in Houston on October 10. A complete itinerary is listed below and at amygrant.com and
fernandoortega.com. Tickets are available through itickets.com and Ticketmaster.com.
The tour will stop in churches and small venues enabling Grant and Ortega to connect with fans in a more intimate
setting. At many dates, the artists will include a question and answer session as part of their show, something
Grant did during promotional concerts when Legacy… Hymns & Faith released in May. It has been more than
four years since Grant has been on a tour, notwithstanding her annual holiday dates.
“What I am most looking forward to about being back on the road again is enjoying a walk down a memory lane
with old friends. This tour is not about big production, but it is about real people and real life,” said Grant.
The “Legacy…Hymns & Faith Tour,” follows a busy summer for Grant. In addition to the eight-city promotional
tour, Grant made appearances on NBC’s Today Show Friday concert series, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,”
ABC’s The View with Barbara Walters, and “The 700 Club.” She has also taped a Lifetime “Intimate Portraits”
and a feature for ABC’s “20/20,” both set to air this fall.
Legacy…Hymns & Faith debuted at number one on the SoundScan contemporary Christian chart in May, and
after four weeks at number one, has remained in the top ten all summer. The recording has received widespread
critical acclaim, including reviews by People, Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, CCM magazine and others.
The new single from the release, “This Is My Father’s World,” adds to AC and Inspo charts in mid-September.
Ortega released his latest project, Storm, in February. The Dove Award-winning singer songwriter has seven
number one radio hits in a row, including “Light of Heaven,” from Storm. The current radio single from the
record is “Sing to Jesus.”
“I’ve looked forward to this all summer – touring with Amy Grant and her amazing band. Not only because it will
be so rewarding musically, but because Amy is such a wonderful person, always gracious and generous. I think
people will enjoy the concert on many levels,” said Ortega.
Word Entertainment, a Warner/Curb Company, has long been the leading label for contemporary Christian music.
