It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Lipscomb University! The campus is just over a week away from getting the holiday season started with the 19th annual Lighting of the Green on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Drew and Ellie Holcomb, along with the incredibly talented Corrina Gill, will be joining the legendary Amy Grant for an unforgettable evening filled with music, joy and the warmth of the holiday season. Lipscomb’s ensemble Sanctuary and Gospel Choir and choirs from Lipscomb Academy and Lipscomb University will also help us start the season right.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. with a free holiday concert to follow at 6 p.m. outside in the Allen Arena Mall. Merry Marketplace, a collection of holiday vendors who donate a portion of their proceeds to benefit Associated Women for Lipscomb scholarships to Lipscomb, is also a traditional feature of Lighting of the Green festivities. The Marketplace will take place in the North Lobby of Allen Arena on the Gold Level Concourse beginning at 4 p.m. Free pictures with Santa begin at 4:30 p.m. in McQuiddy Gymnasium located in the North Lobby of Allen Arena. The evening will conclude with the lighting of a Christmas tree in the quad. We hope you can join us on campus for the festivities.
