American Youth Group Urges Academy Awards to Stop its Promotion of the Culture of Death

In advance of the March 5, 2006 Academy Awards, Generation Life urged the Academy to stop honoring films that celebrate aspects of the Culture of Death, such as abortion (The Cider House Rules), euthanasia (Million Dollar Baby), and homosexual behavior (Brokeback Mountain).
Mark Houck, the spokesman for Generation Life, summarized the organization’s views.
“Movies that glamorize and celebrate abortion, euthanasia and homosexual behavior are not congruent with our value system and our choices in entertainment. We want films that not only represent our moral compass, but ones that encourage and uplift our spirits. From a generation that has lost one- third of its brothers and sisters due to legalized abortion and has witnessed many of our peers going through life with broken hearts and homes, we say ENOUGH!”
Generation Life is an organization and movement of young adults who are committed to building a culture of life by spreading the pro-life and chastity messages to their peers and to teens.
