Oh, America! How long will you turn a blind eye to sin? How long will you accept compromise?
You have allowed yourself to fall under the spell of false teachers and false prophets! (II Timothy 4:3,4)
They tell you that times have changed and that we must change with them. They use carefully crafted words and phrases to defend the indefensible. They will even quote God’s Word, using “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone” to claim authority they do not have.
Wake up America! Perhaps times and people have changed, but be not deceived. Sin is still sin, no matter the excuse. And God does not change! He is the same now as He was in the beginning. He is not only good, He is Holy, Righteous and Just. He is also a God of Wrath, and makes no apology for it.
Consider the words in Ezekiel chapter 7. “Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations. And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.”
Some will want to hide behind ‘religion’. They’ll go to church and yell “Praise the Lord!” as loud as they can. They try to find comfort in a place where the only real things are the building and the land it sits upon. In Amos chapter 5 He says, “I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat-offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. But let judgement run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.”
In Isaiah 1:15 He says, “And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.” Jesus said in Matthew 7:22-23, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
So what are we to do? The answer is found in II Chronicles 7:14. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
“But wait,” some will say, “I’m not that bad. I’m a good person. I don’t hurt anybody. I go to church . . . sometimes. I give to charity. I even love my neighbor.”
But God might counter, “There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.” (Proverbs 30:12) “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6)
Repent! Oh, America, repent before it is too late. Don’t tolerate sin in your life, and exhort others to do the same. Cast away the bonds of compromise. God won’t compromise, and He will not tolerate sin . . . any sin. We must confess our sins . . . all of our sins . . . and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)
If what you have just read makes you angry, or uncomfortable, believe me I understand. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
Where do you stand? Will you turn to God, or will you walk in the sparks of your own heels? The decision is yours.
