“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
I John 4:10.
As Valentine’s Day approaches and we send out cards, candy and gifts …take the time to remember the One who resides in your heart! As humans, we can only “love” so much and reach a certain level and quality of love. But through Christ, He gives us the ability to love in a way that we are incapable of, without Him!! Every relationship you have is made stronger and deeper because of this!
A life in Christ, lived with the Holy Spirit is the only way we can achieve this “complete love”. Your natural ability, emotions and feelings of love are taken to a whole new level! When you accept Christ into your heart, you are transformed as the Spirit comes to dwell in you. Just as it says in II Corinthians 5:17 ” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.”
The way you love your; spouse, children, mom and dad, family and friends, is made better through Christ! He teaches us and gives us the capacity to love, in a way that is impossible without Him. A love that is not selfish but giving, throwing away fear. The strength and sincerity of your love will be unlike anything you could give without Him!
” God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in the world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.”
I John 4:16-19
Many things happen to us when we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior and the ability to love is most definitely a part of it! So, as you send out your Valentines, give a praise offering of thanks to the One who makes it possible for you love, the way you do! more.
