The world has witnessed the chaos and fear brought by Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine, reminding many older readers of the days of the cold war when much of our world worried about the potential of war from the former USSR.
Hot on the heels of our government abandoning our allies and countrymen in Afghanistan and leaving millions of dollars worth of military assets behind for Afghanistan’s friends in Russia and China to help them utilize, Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to invade the Ukraine where the Russians were able to take some key pieces of land. This follow’s Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea from the Ukraine. In fact, Russia has a long history of attacks on the Ukraine.
Many on both sides have taken casualties with Ukrainians experiencing attacks across numerous cities Now the world watches as Russia engages in peace talks with the Ukraine, wondering if Russian and Ukrainian leaders can find a peaceful resolution, and what the role of NATO should be.
During this time of conflict, Life.Church offers this simple prayer for the hurting people of the Ukraine and the world:
A Prayer for the Ukraine and the World
God, |
We need You—we always have. |
You are our source of strength, and You tell us to give You all our concerns. |
Bring protection and healing to the people of Ukraine. Show them that You are with them, and that You hear their prayers. |
Please strengthen anyone who is feeling hurt, alone, or broken. Replace any feelings of anxiety, fear, and uncertainty with Your peace and hope. |
Draw near to us as we draw near to You. |
In Jesus’ name, |
Amen. |
