The precious Son of Mary,
Still before her lies
Gazing as a blazing star
Flickered in His eyes.
Drawn upon celestial skies
The eyes of Jesus knew:
The love of God that sent Him,
Was in the manger too.
A holy silence stilled the wind
As all creation bowed.
Man and beast among the least
To witness Heaven’s crown.
Heaven’s high and perfect Son
Descended as a gift.
Innocent and sinless born
A bridge for Adam’s rift.
