Lipscomb University’s second annual Lighting of the Green ceremony will once again feature a special performance by Amy Grant along with Lipscomb’s choruses. The event will also include refreshments, Lelan Statom, WTVF meteorologist, as the master of ceremonies and Seth Cantrell, Lipscomb student and a Marine who fought in Iraq, lighting the Christmas tree. The community is invited and asked to bring canned goods to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank, Nov. 28 on the Lawn of the Burton Building, Belmont Boulevard side of the Lipscomb campus, 3901 Granny White Pike. 10/26/5 Organizers of the 12th Annual Inspirational Country Music Award Show (ICM’s) announce that Country Legend and Blue Hat Recording Artist, Charlie Daniels, will open the 2006 awards show. Charlie will perform Preachin', Prayin', Singin' on the live award show being held at the historic Acuff Theatre, November 9th, 2006, at 7 PM CST.

10/24/6 The original Nashville Star Search - Trowbridge Symposium enters its new season at Gaylord Entertainment Center. Scheduled for July 20 - 23 2007, the event is Nashville's oldest career workshop and artist showcase event for all styles of music. Songwriters, singers, and bands compete for prizes and are judged by industry representatives from record labels, publishing companies, and talent agencies. Prizes include recording sessions on Music Row, a publishing contract, and a music video with TV exposure. Visit nashvillestarsearch.com for details.

10/20/6 Lipscomb University will host a book reading and signing of Beside Still Waters for Dickson County author, Dr. Sue Berry, at 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Upper Level Mezzanine of the Beaman Library on Lipscomb’s campus, 3901 Granny White Pike. The event is free and open to the public.

10/16/6 Legendary guitarist and songwriter, Grammy nominee and Dove Award winner Phil Keaggy will be sharing more music and stories with Monica M. Schmelter, host of the popular daily television program "Bridges." During the "Bridges" episode, Keaggy will speak about his latest instrumental "looping" album Roundabout and perform "Revive Me" and "Dream Again" from his much anticipated upcoming vocal album. The show will air at 9:30 a.m. CST on October 20, 2006 in the Nashville, Tenn. market.

10/13/6 The Gospel Music Association (GMA) today announced that the 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards (www.doveawards.com) will be presented on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 (8:00-10:00 p.m. CST) at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn., hosted by Dove-winning artists Natalie Grant, Brian Littrell and Donnie McClurkin and broadcast in national syndication during the month of May.


10/10/6 Superstars Amy Grant and Vince Gill were recently chosen as the first celebrity couple to participate in Ladies Home Journal’s (LHJ) “At Home” feature. The feature appears in the November issue of LHJ, on newsstands Tuesday, October 10th and online at www.LHJ.com. The eight page layout features gorgeous photos of the couple inside their Nashville home as well as their beautifully landscaped backyard. Both Gill and Grant spent time talking with Ladies Home Journal about their marriage, children and careers, profiled in a lengthy feature within the photo spread. Last week Grant released her first live project in 25 years, the retrospective CD and also DVD, “Time Again Amy Grant Live.” In addition, after selling over 25 million albums worldwide, winning numerous GRAMMY® Awards and countless other career milestones, Amy Grant was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 19th.


10/2/6 The eagerly awaited CD from the platinum selling and Dove award winning artist, Mark Schultz, was featured on Nashville FOX affiliate WZTV-TV’s highly popular morning show, "Tennessee" Mornings on Sept. 26. Schultz performed “Walking Her Home” from his fifth album, Broken & Beautiful, that released the same day. Following his powerful performance, Schultz interviewed with Tennessee Mornings where host Charlie Chase regarded Broken & Beautiful as Schultz’s career project to date.
