MercyMe continued to celebrate their release of “10” when they played several hits from their new “best of” collection, including “I Can Only Imagine,” at last week’s Grand Ole Opry national radio broadcast from the Ryman Auditorium. Backstage at the Opry, the band was greeted by Grammy Award® winning Opry Member Ricky Skaggs.

44/27/9 Nashville's Amy Grant and Vince Gill recently announced plans to host an evening of music at The John F. Special musical guests slated to join Grant and Gill at the Monday night Kennedy Center launch event include Michael McDonald, Alison Krauss, Darius Rucker, Melinda Doolittle and Mac McAnally with NY Times bestselling author Stephen Mansfield.

4/20/09 Gospel Music Week is taking place in Nashvile this week. The Dove Awards are April 23!

4/20/09 Diamond Rio performed the National Anthem at the grand opening of Nashville’s newly renovated Greer Stadium on March 9.

4/19/9 The United Tour is bringing two of gospel music's top artists, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman, to the Ryman Auditorium

4/17/09 Antioch resident Christian sword swallower Dan Meyer who amazed audiences and shocked the judges last year on NBC's #1 reality show "America's Got Talent," is meeting with fellow AGT finalist contestants Daniel Jens (soldier singer and aspiring gospel artist), Sarah Lenore (country singer), Jessica Price (folk singer) and Jarred Crump (pop/rock singer) to join him for an impromptu get-together while they're all in town tonight at Dan McGuinness Pub on Music Row to compare notes on how their lives have changed and see where the exposure has taken them since last summer. Interesting note: at least three of these former "America's Got Talent" competitors are Christians.
