Christian Activities publisher, Kathryn Darden, will appear at Pages Book Store for two book signings for her book The Mayberry Poem: A Tribute to Mayberry during this year's Mayberry Days festivities in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.

The book of poetry about everyone's favorite small town was just updated in August with brand-new poems poems added and an improved layout to be released in time for Mayberry Days.

The first signing will take place on Friday, September 22, from noon to 1 p.m. (right after the Mayor's Proclamation).

On Saturday, September 23 from 10:30 a.m. until noon (right after the Mayberry Day's Parade), Darden will autograph books again at Pages.

Darden has compiled poems about Mayberry for several years. Poems are submitted by poets from all across the United States and include Darden's own original poetry.

"I wanted to create a book that would pay tribute to the values of Mayberry and to give readers a nostalgic and inspirational look at the Mayberry themes that still resonate with people today" Darden states.

One thing that will certainly resonate with Mayberry fans is the poetic tribute to actor Don Knotts in his role as "Barney Fife."

Not only an author and publisher, Darden also appears at Mayberry events as Mayberry Tribute Artist �Flora Malherbe� (Goober's girlfriend in the color episodes). At Friday's book signing, Darden will pay a special tribute to actress Alberta Nelson. Nelson, who played the character of Flora Malherbe on "The Andy Griffith Show," passed away earlier this year.

Darden is also scheduled for a book signing in Nashville on Saturday, September 30 at Author's Corner in Bellevue Center Mall, as well as upcoming signings at the Bellevue YMCA, and at The Old Country Store in Jackson, TN.

Updated in August just in time for the book signings The Mayberry Poem: A Tribute to Mayberry is a perfect bound paperback book, 75 pages long, and illustrated. The new edition features a full-color cover and black and white photos from the show, as well as photos of Mt. Airy (Andy Griffith's hometown and the town upon which Mayberry was based).

The updated edition of The Mayberry Poem: A Tribute to Mayberry retails for $9.99 plus $1.95 postage and handling. Tennessee residents add 9.25% sales tax.
