Inspirational Country Music Awards to air tonight through Sky Angel direct-to-home satellite TV

The 11th annual Inspirational Country Music Awards show, held November 10 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, will be televised this Sunday, November 27, 9 to 11 p.m. ET (8 pm CT/7pm MT/6pm PT), on Angel Two, the Christian special events channel exclusive to the 36-channel Sky Angel nationwide direct-to-home satellite television service. Homes across America receive the Sky Angel service through a small satellite dish.

11/26/5 Deadline To Join GMA To Be Eligible to Vote Is December 1

When the Doves are handed out at the GMA Music Awards next April, it is not just Christian music VIPs who will decide which artists receive Artist of the Year and other coveted Dove trophies. Christian music fans who join the Gospel Music Association (GMA) as Associate or Student Members automatically become voting members for the top categories of the GMA Music Awards. The deadline for joining the GMA to be eligible to vote in the 2006 Doves is December 1. Membership applications are online at http://www.gospelmusic.org/membership/individual/whyjoin.aspx. 11/16/5 Crossdogs to Launch January 1

Launching January 1, 2006 with the slogan “Where Potential Meets Opportunity”, Crossdogs will revolutionize the way artists communicate with venues, book performances and take advantage of opportunities within the Christian music industry. In addition, Crossdogs will provide venues and other participating organizations and companies with access to top-notch artists who are eager to fill their available opportunities. The brainchild of Gary LeMaster and Brant Christopher Menswar, Crossdogs was created to solve two major problems for Christian artists: finding places to perform and receiving adequate reimbursement for their time and travel.


11/15/5 Jars of Clay Releases “iTunes Originals”

Jars of Clay released its first “iTunes Originals” 23-track digital album, which features six in-studio live recordings cut exclusively for iTunes, band interviews, and a digital booklet with new band photos. Jars of Clay joins 22 artists across multiple genres selected by Apple iTunes for this exclusive series, alongside artists such as Black Eyed Peas, Jack Johnson, and Sarah McLachlan.

First Annual Harmony Honors To Air On Trinity Broadcasting Network

The Southern Gospel Music Guild’s first annual Harmony Honors, which were held in 2004, are set to air Monday, November 21, 2005 on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) at 10:30 am CST. Performers who appeared on the program include The Crabb Family, the Perrys, the Isaacs, Brian Free & Assurance, Anthony Burger, Gold City, Mike Bowling, Joyce Martin, Hope’s Call, the Jody Brown Indian Family, the Whisnants, Palmetto State Quartet, the Talley Trio, Three Bridges and many others. The second annual Harmony Honors will also take place on Monday, November 21, 2005 at the Renaissance Center located in Dickson, Tennessee at 8:00 pm, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. Admission is free and open to public, but seats are limited. The event will be taped for television broadcast on DayStar. The Isaacs, Anthony Burger, the McRaes, the Perrys, the Kingsmen, Mark Bishop, Triumphant Quartet, Karen Peck & New River, Channing Eleton, Three Bridges, Crossway, Hope’s Call, the McKameys and Lauren Talley are slated to be apart of the 2005 event.

11/14/5 Australian Gospel Music Association Announces Finalists

AGMA (Australian Gospel Music Association) today announced finalists for the key honors at the Australian Gospel Music Awards to be held in Canberra this week. Affectionately known as the 'Angels', the awards span the musical spectrum from worship to hip hop, rock, country and sacred with many more styles in between. 11/3/5 Southern Gospel Music Guild Announces Top Nominees

The Southern Gospel Music Guild (SGMG) has announced the top nominees for the 2005 Harmony Honors, as well as the venue and date for the event. The Second Annual Harmony Honors will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 21st at the Renaissance Center located in Dickson, Tennessee. Admission is free and open to the public, but seats are limited. The event will be taped for television broadcast.

The Myriad Signs Booking Contracts

The Seattle-based band The Myriad has signed exclusive booking contracts with both The Agency Group and Third Coast Artist Agency. Effective immediately, David Galea at the New York office of The Agency Group will handle general touring, and Keith Shackleford at Nashville’s Third Coast Artist Agency will cover the college, festival and Christian markets.

On November 9th, hundreds of aspiring Christian artists will know whether they have won the “American Idol” of the Christian music world. The Talent Show is a competition for independent Christian artists who all want to make it big in the fastest-growing sector of the music biz. The show itself will feature 30 artists and bands, whittled down from hundreds of entries across the nation, and will take place in the heartland of the recording industry – Nashville, Tenn. The winners will receive 20 hours of studio recording/editing time and the resulting CD will feature on SongTouch.com, dubbed the “Christian Napster” in TIME magazine and industry publications.
