Bellevue Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, is hosting its annual free community-wide egg hunt at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 3, 2010.

This event has become a popular annual event in Bellevue and is one of the biggest Easter egg hunts in the Nashville area. More than 600 children registered for the event in 2008 when I last covered the Easter egg hunt, and many more kids bypassed the registration tables, eager to jump into line and start hunting eggs.

The colorful eggs are stuffed with candy, scripture verses and slips good for additional prizes. All the candy and prizes are donated by Bellevue Baptist members, and the eggs are stuffed by church members.

You never know who will show up at the Easter egg hunt. Sometimes the Easter Rabbit makes an appearance as well as other colorful characters! There are also other treats in store like face painting, free snacks, and a prize table loaded with goodies.
